Welcome to KITA
The Kentucky Interpreter and Translator Association (KITA) aims to offer both entry-level and ongoing education and a platform for knowledge sharing among interpreters and translators. We emphasize professionalism and raising public awareness about the need for qualified language services for the Limited-English Proficient (LEP) and Deaf/Hard of Hearing communities. KITA welcomes professional interpreters/translators, their collaborators, and anyone interested in advancing the interpreting and translation profession.

"From 2017-18, I worked as KITA's AmeriCorps VISTA Language Access Outreach Specialist, helping improve language access and promoting the organization's mission. My role allowed me to deepen my understanding and connection to my community, aligning with my personal values. Six years on, I remain involved with KITA, contributing to our shared vision in a new capacity." -BayLeigh Routt
